Research Grant Programs
Aiming toward the healthy and spiritual enriched society
Now, aging society in advanced countries is unavoidable reality and a lot of issues have been raised in various fields. Declining birthrate speeds up aging population and brings fewer children and population decreases as well. In addition, falling in the workforce will enter the era of slow economic growth. As a result, it will increase the social security costs.
Toward the solution, we should create the society that causes generational conflict and promotes competitive efficiency for seeking only economic value. Knowledge and experiences for reviewing and creating such a society are required.
The Univers Foundation that contributes to the enhancement of social welfare in the aging society with a falling birthrate and depopulating society, offers grant programs under the fundamental theme of gAiming toward the healthy and spiritual enriched society.h
The programs are designed to globally support researchers and their surveys relating to the following three subjects and other studies which contribute to realize the goals of the Univers Foundation. Young researchers from various fields such as social sciences, human sciences, natural sciences, and practitioners in social welfare are welcome to apply for our grant programs.

Three Subjects of Grant Programs
1. Social security system and policy
It is a significant issue for all of us how we make our life healthy and spiritual enriched. Aging society with a falling birthrate needs to focus on the situation of not only the elderly but also children. This program supports for those whose researches are focused on aiming toward the stable society with contentment.
Possible research topics:
1. Pension insurance, benefits;
2. Health insurance, long-term care insurance;
3. Social welfare;
4. Advocacy.
2. Family ties
Our era symbolizes as if gNeither calling each other, nor communicating.h In order to establish the era of no conflict, but enhancing reconciliation and harmony, this program supports practical researches regarding child psychology, elderly psychiatry, livelihood support, and clinical studies in the related-medical science fields.
Attention: Basic research is not subject to the grant program.
Possible Research Topics:
1. Soul and health of the elderly;
2. Dementia, care giving;
3. Emotion and mind of children;
4. Depression, withdrawa;
5. Domestic violence, abuse.
3. Role of community
Healthy and spiritual enriched society is the one which all generations are willing to share. The foundation has been advocating with all who respect gPeople, Nature, and Communityh as the center: 1) Civilian activities to enhance a society in which people can live without anxiety; 2) Community development and international cooperation to build a newly substitute community for once formed system helping each other in the big families as well as within the community. This program supports for those whose researches related matters mentioned above.
Possible Research Topics:
1. Community based welfare;
2. Civilian activities, international cooperation;
3. Social participation of the elderly in society, value of their living;
4. Education, culture;
5. Intergenerational communication;
6. Supporting caregivers.
ATTENTION: Regarding Personal Information Protection
1) Personal Information received from applicants are only used for screening procedures such as selecting grantees and mailing application-results letter.
2) The Univers Foundation will officially announce granteesf names, themes and contents of researches to the public, the National Institute of Informatics and the Japan Foundation Center.
